Day 7: Not Giving Up

Like I said I took an extra long weekend and it took me almost 4 days to recover from A not exercising to B giving up on diet completely. Till about yesterday when sure I went over my calories but I said you know what I feel better about myself and that's what is really important.

I also did something super important and caught up with all my bills so maybe less restless nights but probably not. Anyway, I love this picture because this is how I really feel. I'm not giving up on my weight loss or on this blog. I promised you guys entries and food journals, things that get me through my day, etc.

Oh I guess the most important thing to mention is my weigh in since it is day 7. I didn't lose or gain any weight. Some people might find sad but with 4 days of not eating super healthy and not exercising I wasn't expecting any results I was expecting a weight gain if anything but I stand at 144.8 lbs.

Now it being Wednesday you guys get pictures! Woo hoo.

So not much of a change and that's ok. I will try to be nicer to my body. I will eat better. I will exercise more and I will not fall behind on my blog posts. Thanks for keeping me motivated.

Remember if you're tired of starting over, stop giving up. I have 29 days till my cruise and to feel more comfortable in my skin. I am gonna take this motivation and move forward.

Day 6: Voltaire

I have decided to be happy because its good for my health.
-Voltaire

Mondays are the start of my weekend. Obviously that means that this week I had an extra long weekend because I treated the regular weekend as my off cheat days and also my regular weekend as cheat days as well. I know you're thinking how is she ever gonna lose any weight. Well, this is why its so hard to lose weight.

Regardless of the obstacles I have to focus. That's all bottom line I need to eat better and exercise more and this means on my days off so I can have cheat days on regular weekend days. I didn't do so well on Monday but it was terrible, I went over my daily calorie intake but that's ok.

I had a rough day. I wasn't feeling 100% and sometimes having ice cream with your best friend and watching frozen will make you feel better and that should always come first. My mental state will always come first before my food regimen.

I had a fabulous lunch at Noble Sandwiches which I think everyone should try. Yes, high in calories but absolutely worth every bite.

Check them out here:

I also wanted to add this here because if you are stressed you are more likely to gain weight so here are some things that can help you out.

Day 3 and Weekend

So of course I went over my calories on this day and we all knew that was going to happen. Also, tarro bubble tea has a ton of calories. Regardless, this comes to show you that you can have cheat days. Days where you don't want to do the exercise video, where you just want to sit in front of the TV and not do anything and that's ok.

I didn't even log in my food for Saturday and Sunday, it was quite embarrassing I ate terrible Mexican food and not enough veggies. I also went to the movies and had a large Icee and yes, I broke my promise of doing my Work out video. That doesn't mean I'm gonna go down a slippery slope of not exercising and not eating right anymore. That means I have to challenge myself this week more. Which means more writing. More pictures. More exercise more fruits and veggies less beer and junk food.

I think I have a grip on that now, with only 29 days to my cruise I'm afraid of what the pictures will look like but in any case I will try my best to be good to my body this week.

Focus on the Good- Day 2: Food Diary and Recap

All in all a really good day. Got to say that after being on Nutrisystem and other diets. Its nice to eat just real food. One thing I was incredibly satisfied with and also shocked to find out how much I like the Nutrisystem Pancake mix.

I did Jillian's 30 day shred and it kicked my ass as per usual but I love it. Its so easy because you never get bored 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio and 1 minute abs, if you can't pull this off you are in really bad shape. My body aches and that's ok because I know I'll get results.

Again, I didn't get much sleep, there was a terrible storm and it woke me. I also got a letter about renewing my lease. Which means I have to think about that. I don't really want to leave my apartment its finally looking liveable.

Eating Protein for lunch and dinner was surprisingly what made me full for the rest of the day. I love that I ate a salad and very low cal fish and I felt great.

I would like to provide you some kind of guide as to my quick recipe was for my dinner.

Salad

Hearts of Romain
Tomato
Red Onion
Vinegratte
-Olive Oil (1 TBS)
-Red wine vinegar (1tsp)
-Mustard (1/2 tsp)
-Honey (1/2 tsp)
-Salt Pepper and Garlic Powder
Combine all ingredients and Toss

Steak

-Salt/Pepper
-Dry Thyme
-Garlic Powder
-4 to 5 oz Ny Strip
Throw the seasoned steak onto a hot pan for 2 minutes on a each side and let it rest.

Mac and Cheese

-1 cup heavy cream
-1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
-maccoroni noodles
-minced garlic
Cook noodles. In another pot combine the rest of the ingredients until cheese is melted. Leave a little water from the noodles and combine the starchy water will thicken the sauce a bit.

Lastly, I want to leave on a positive note because honestly. Writing what I ate and did and how I felt is helping me tremendously. It was something I was missing and it feels good to have this outlet. I leave you with this.

Food Diary of Day 1 and Recap

Yay! I finished my first day. I wasn't 100% hungry but I was tired. I don't get a lot of good sleep. For one,  I'm a worry bug and I worry about everything. I worry about the fact I haven't called my parents, my financials, my work, my boyfriends job, my health, the cats etc. On top of all that my boyfriend is a night owl and stays up really late and I try to sleep through but being a light sleeper doesn't help. The cats walking in and out of the room is another reason I don't get much sleep. I'm hoping with exercise I will feel a little better.Yesterday I didn't do the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred but I found another short exercise routine which I will add here that I found quick, creative and you can virtually do it anywhere.

http://www.buzzfeed.com/mackenziekruvant/5-one-song-workouts?sub=2438387_1407567

I didn't fancy the music that was included except for Icona Pop and Macklemore so, you can do your own variation of songs just match it up with the number minutes and you'll be fine.

As you can see I did eat some Nutrisystem. I do have a lot of food left and I figured since its measured out it would be a good way to account for where my calories are coming from. also its pretty convenient and the food isn't half bad. I always pair it with fresh veggies and fruits just to make healthier, it is highly processed so as you can tell my sodium intake is a little high and so are my carbs. All in all I had a good day even with 181 calories remaining! Woo-hoo Me!

I would love to end my day with a little Jillian Michaels and I would like to do the 5 song work out through out my work day. Maybe doing 2 songs resting and then doing 3 songs, I'm still getting an additional 25 minute work out buts broken into 2 12.5 minute intervals. I'm not sure yet, I would like to work up into doing that.

I'm a little apprehensive about Friday, like I mentioned before my friend and I going out for bubble tea and now my boyfriend reminds me of prior engagement for friends' birthday. I guess tomorrow will have to be my rest day since I have these events I have to attend and I don't want to be a debbie downer counting calories etc. I have to mention this here, I did however go out last Thursday during my detox and I only drank water and danced and I had a pretty good time. So, it is completely possible to go out, not drink and still have a good time. I however would like to celebrate my friends birthday and I would like to enjoy my evening out with my girlfriend drinking bubble tea and eating sushi without worrying about my calorie count. Now, saying all this I want to make sure I still do my workout. I intended to do my 30 Day Shred at lunch on Friday.

Life happens and its important to not focus on the bad but the good strides I have done this week. Even if its the first day.

Day 1- 30 Day Shred

Another blog about fitness and what to do and how to lose it. Nah, I'm not one of those people. I have a really hard time staying on a diet and keeping track as to what I eat, I also hate exercising and well I like food. I love to cook and I have a personal bond with food in general. It makes me happy, meals are associated with good conversations, friends, family warmth. Why would I have a bad relationship with food?
Anyway, what I can say is that I am not happy with the way I look. I feel very out of shape and not my personal best. I have tried fad diets like "The Sacred Heart Diet", I have even ordered Nutrisystem. Honestly, I can't really stay on a diet long enough to achieve results. After trying to do the Sacred Heart diet I thought to myself. I can eat better and exercise and try to achieve results slowly and see what happens instead of worrying if a fad diet can make me lose weight, I try the old fashion way of doing things.

Today, July 16th, 2014 I promised myself 30 days of eating better and exercising more.

As for my exercise, I'm gonna follow fitness professional Jillian Michaels in her 30 days Shred since this is a 30 day blog. Basically you do a 30 minute workout for 30 days level, 1, 2, 3 for ten days each. I have only done level one before for 2 or 3 days and then quit. My goal is to at least do it for 5 days and maybe on day 6 I'll take a rest day but if at all possible do all 10 days in a row. It's only 30 minutes so its very possible to do this on daily basis.

As for my diet. This is gonna be the fun part. I love to eat especially foods that are not exactly healthy like pizza, pasta, beer, and even sweets. I don't want to cut things out but I am gonna limit myself to them.

I weighed myself yesterday, Tuesday, July 15th and I was 144.8 lbs
Again I don't want this to be a crazy competition about how much weight I lose I just want to try to see if I change my lifestyle a little will it make an impact and how much. I will only weight myself once a week. I will weight myself on Tuesday mornings before eating anything.

Here are some pictures of what I look like on a regular day.

I will also try to post pictures every week on Wednesday to see if there are any visible changes in my appearance.

I know this week I have a date with my friend to go get a a Rice Ball and some Bubble Tea at a Japanese store and I don't want to ruin my date because of diet constraints. Again, we all have commitments and things we need to do and eating 1 "bad" thing doesn't really do any damage just make sure you continue with the workouts and also make sure you don't continue on the path of destruction.

I'll be happy if I lose a few pounds and I'll be even happier if I don't gain any.
